HP PSC 1410 scanner not seen on USB
Just bought an HP PSC 1410 and since it is a new model # there is little info available. SuSE 9.3 has an extensive list of supported HP devices but there isn't a 1410 to select with YaST. I got printing to work by selecting 1310 but doing the same in scanner config leaves me in an endless search for the scanner -- hpaio driver is loaded. The scanner appears to work for local to device functions. lsusb provides the following information:
fragos@linux:~> /sbin/lsusb Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 002 Device 002: ID 046d:c03f Logitech, Inc. Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 002: ID 03f0:4d11 Hewlett-Packard Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 fragos@linux:~> It appears that the usb doesn't see a scanner. YaST says auto-detection of HP all-in-one scanners doesn't work but they can still be configured. I'd appreciate help as I'm past my knowledge base. |

I use SuSE 9.3 and GUI device configuration using yast. The 1410 was unknown to the printer software. I got the printer to work well by selecting a PSC 1310. I'm curious as to how you got the scanner to work. Best of luck.
