How to setup Epson Perfection 1660 Photo scanner in SUSE 10.0beta4
 

I have installed SUSE 10.0beta4 on my comp. Everything is working fine except Epson Photo Perfection scanner 1660. The fact is that the scanner is recognized by the system. Only when I start Kooka, I am in welcome to kooka screen and there is 1.epson:libusb:003:004 EPSON GT-8300 scan device. Selecting it, I am directed to KDE Scanning-Kooka window. And that is all. I have no possibility to choose scan - not even from file. Everything is empty .

Some advise should be welcome.

One more thing, when I go in YAST and check the scanner installation, I can scan when asked to test the scanner?!

I have installed XSANE and it works. Kooka is not working.
