How to Setup Apache (SUSE9,2)

Wanted to try to setup an Apache server for FTP and others but do not know how.

I had read some books but due to lack of technical knowledge (i did not "study" computer, just wanted to get out of windows and ended up deeper into Linux), is not able to fully understand how to do it.

Appreciate if you could point to links, documents or share your experience. Thanks

If a remember rightly, SUSE 9.2 has a HTTP(Apache) module in YAST, under network services. I don't recall if it is installed by default - if not you can install the module - it's called yast2-http-server

The module will install all the software and give you a working server with a few clicks of the mouse. You can then tweak the configuration further if you like, but this would require manual tinkering. You will find the apache website has some of the most comprehensive documentation of any product around.
