How to reset root password in OpenSuSe 11.0 ?

Hello,

I have a squid proxy running on OpenSuSe 11.0
I cant remember root password.
I have physical access to the server.

Any1 can tell me exact step by step process to reset root password in OpenSuSe 11.0 x86 version ?

If you can't chroot and run "passwd" as root, and if a null root password won't let you log in*, you can copy the password hash from your user's entry in /etc/shadow and copy it to root's entry.

*If the "null_ok" option isn't used in a pam configuration line, root may not be able to login with a null password. I had this happen once just after installing a new openSUSE version.
