u can try list all floppy drive in your computer.
ls /dev/f* then probably you have some ideal. |
Hi, this is the message:
bgorjup@riba43:~> ls /dev/f* /dev/fb0 /dev/full /dev/fwmonitor /dev/fd: 0 1 2 3 bgorjup@riba43:~> and my fstab entry: /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD800JB-00ET_WD-WCAHL6103923-part6 / ext3 acl,user_xattr 1 1 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD800JB-00ET_WD-WCAHL6103923-part7 /home ext3 acl,user_xattr 1 2 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD800JB-00ET_WD-WCAHL6103923-part1 /windows/C ntfs ro,users,gid=users,umask=0002,nls=utf8 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-MAXTOR_6L040J2_362124625531-part1 /windows/D vfat users,gid=users,umask=0002,utf8=true 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD800JB-00ET_WD-WCAHL6103923-part5 swap swap defaults 0 0 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0 debugfs /sys/kernel/debug debugfs noauto 0 0 usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0 /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto rw,noauto,user,sync 0 0 |
I think that the device to use is /dev/fd/0 for the first floppy device. The floppy disk needs to be formatted before you will be able to mount the filesystem.
|
No, not working. This is the replay:
bgorjup@riba43:~> mount /dev/fd/0 mount: can't find /dev/fd/0 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab bgorjup@riba43:~> |
Since you don't have an entry in /etc/fstab, you need to include the rest of mount command.
For example, to mount it over /mnt sudo mount -t vfat /dev/fd/0 /mnt |
I think the entry is there:
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto rw,noauto,user,sync 0 0 |
Quote:
Try mounting it with "mount /media/floppy". Although I'm not certain that /dev/fd/0 isn't for a partitioned floppy disk. |
