Lightbulb how to install SuSE on system with xp raid 0

hi all,

im hoping for an expert to help me, before i make a mistake!

i have a pc (AMD64 3200+) with 2*200gb SATA disks in RAID 0 (nvidia) stripe, and another 120gb IDE disk.

i have a lanparty ultra-D motherboard.

i have winXP home installed on the raid stripe.

i downloaded SUSE 10 eval 64bit, and wish to install it on the 120gb IDE drive, and *keep my existing XP installation*, so i can dual boot.

i suspect it is possible to install suse on the IDE drive, but how will the installation cope with setting up the dual boot arrangement (XP on RAID0/SuSE on IDE); i mean can the SuSE install program write to the MBR on the RAID stripe?

any other tips?

already grateful in advance..

Jon

Have a look at the homepage of grub;
In my knowledge grub is unable to boot a raid 0 ntfs installation.

thanks Keruskerfuerst. i finally realised it wasn't going to work, so i imaged my XP installation, turned off RAID detection in the BIOS, and recovered the XP image to one of the SATA drives, then installed SuSE on the other drive.

now can dual boot SuSE, it's great!
am not yet connected to the internet in SuSE, since im having some trouble configuring my wireless belkin card.

thanks for youre help!
Jon
