MS TTfonts can be installed via the online update. Other fonts can be installed from yast install/remove software option.

in kde
copy ttf fonts to whatever foldr er in your ~/
open Control center -> System Administration -> Font installer press add fonts... -> and browse to the directory where you saved fonts

Gnome : don't know don't use it

other:
copy fonts to
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype
or
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTf
or whatever folder you create if it is not there already

add ttf font path to /etc/X11/xorg.conf (or XF86Config - depends what are you using: XFreee or Xorg)
run fontmap or restart X (not GUI)

I hope that it will help

Hi there,

I am looking for an automated way to install Fonts system wide.
When I erased my last Suse 9.2 install,if I remember correctly, I could just click a ttf file and it would install.
Now I reinstalled and it does not work anymore.

Does anyone know how that works?
It was quite convenient and I can't seem to find what tool I might have been using.

Thanks for any help.

By the way, here is a nice link for fonts:
