erpe 07-26-2006 12:14 PM

Sry forgot. It's Suse 10.1

Sören Schneider 07-26-2006 12:19 PM

Well, I haveDVD edition that comes with APT-GET.
See if it's on your CD/DVD also and install it.
Than return.

I have apt installed :)

Sören Schneider 07-26-2006 12:39 PM

So,
what do you want to install?

erpe 07-26-2006 01:14 PM

avidemux: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3 and
par2cmdline: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i586.rpm.html

So, download and install.

Click on the rpm you want to install. Click the "Install with YaST" tab.

Edit: First download the rpms to your computer, then follow the instructions above.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried to do this, unfortunatly the install fails because of missing dependencies.

b0uncer 07-27-2006 12:12 AM

That's why you should use apt or some other package manager that can resolve the dependencies automatically. The other option is, unless you want to give up, to locate and download the dependencies, possibly their dependencies etc. until you have every dependency, and start installing them in the order you can (dependencies of the dependencies first, then the dependencies, then the actual packet you were looking for..)

erpe 07-27-2006 12:35 AM

Lol, I rather not hunt for individual dependencies... I rather reinstall Gentoo and use emerge :) I did an apt-get install for the rpm's I downloaded. Still got this message. Yast gives me the same errors. Therefor I am wondering how I should use these sites, can I add them to my apt sources.lst. And if so how? Are there othere possibilities to download and install rpm's from websites (rpmbone) with depency checking?
