How do I install (GPHOTO2)? I downloaded the "tar.gz" file online.
 

I deleted the old Gphoto2 from my system. I currently have the new downloaded file extracted in my home folder. How do I install it in my computer? In "simple terms"? Can someone tell me what to do in a specific order and what to type. I downloaded this 12/2005 version because it now supports my digital camera. The other one did not. Thanks!

You are running Suse, right?

Have you set up installation sources in Yast (eg Pacman, Guru?). If so, this is available via Yast.

If not, for 9.3 see here (going from the top down, you need the first one for 9.3 in the list):

Once downloaded, right click the RPM and select install with Yast. Post back any dependency issues as you may also need libgphoto2.

What version of Suse are you running as we can help you set up your installation sources so as you will not need to google for packages?

OK, I re-installed GPHOTO2 through Yast w/my disk, BUT
 

I need to get the newer version of GPHOTO2(DEC 2005) which has the camlibs for my camera(KODAK DC210). Can I just add those camlibs to my existing GPHOTO2 or do I have to update the who thing? If I can add those libs from the gphoto2.org site, please tell me how to do that. Thanks alot!

Having looked on google, It seems that you need the libgphoto package which has the libraries for you camera.

I see your camera in the list. You will have to google for a Suse specific RPM. If your Yast sources are set up it may be in the repositories.

Someone who actually owns a camera may prove more helpful - always like to throw in my :twocents: worth!
