How do I create certificates in Apache2

I want to create a certificate for my Apache2 webserver. In Netware you use eDirectory. But I´m not sure how to do this in SLES 9. Is it possible to use eDirectory in SLES aswell?

In the studymaterial there isn´t much about configuring your Apache for SSL. I haven´t found so much at Novell either.

Your best going to the apache website apache.org and read the manual

it is usually

make certificate TYPE=custom

it's a command that creates a file and certificate save your old ones though by renaming first you'll find these under /lib/apache2 recopy the key certificate though so you keep the same key otherwise it will generate a new key which affects SSL

there is also a command to create a file for a secure server certificate that you send to authorities like thawte
