How do I create certificates in Apache2

I want to create a certificate for my Apache2 webserver. In Netware you use eDirectory. But Iīm not sure how to do this in SLES 9. Is it possible to use eDirectory in SLES aswell?

In the studymaterial there isnīt much about configuring your Apache for SSL. I havenīt found so much at Novell either.

Your best going to the apache website apache.org and read the manual

it is usually

make certificate TYPE=custom

it's a command that creates a file and certificate save your old ones though by renaming first you'll find these under /lib/apache2 recopy the key certificate though so you keep the same key otherwise it will generate a new key which affects SSL

there is also a command to create a file for a secure server certificate that you send to authorities like thawte
