How can I stop automatic updates on SUSE 10.3

Every time suse starts it looks for updates, this slows down the start up considerably. I there a way that I can disable automatic updates and to do updates manualy when I choose. Thanks.

It is strange that slow down the starts up.
Normally opensuse is looking fore the updates when the system is running.
So browsing the net slows down.
Anyhow yast>software> is a applet for the updates change it in the way you like it

Auto Updates

Sorry I did not make my meaning clear, when the system first starts running after boot, it searches for updates, this takes some while & everything else slows almost to a halt until it is finished. I have been into Yast & auto updates are already disabled & I can't find any other way to stop them. ???

If you click on the applet it self there is also a possibility to switch
off the auto update.
You have to do this for every user

Online Update

Thanks ronlau9, doing that only gives an option to remove online update, I did that and of course I can not do a manual update now. This is fine for me as it only takes a minute to reinstall it "yast2-online-update" so I can do a update perhaps once a month. Thanks again Regards.

Hi, I think that a sure way is to unclick the "Enabled" box in all repositories, other than your CD/DVD. If it has nowhere to look, it will not, will it? Also, you can then very quickly restore the updates by again "enabling" the repositories.
