Hosts not resolving
Two problems sort of...
I added a new host to /etc/hosts syntax is: 192.168.1.102 laptop laptop When i go to smb://192.168.1.102 it goes fine, but smb://laptop does not. Even if I could make that works, DHCP always changed the IPs around and right now I am printing to 192.168.1.100. How can I make it go by name regardless of what IP DHCP gives it? |
192.168.1.102 laptop
should suffice. |
Setup an internal DNS server and do dynamic DNS updates from the clients. OR, configure DHCP to assign by MAC address.
