Help with Wireless set up Intel Pro/2200BG

I'm a newb and would like some help configuring my wireless card for my Dell laptop. I have it dual-booted with Suse SLES 9/XP. I downloaded ipw2200-1.0.6 (driver), ieee80211-1.0.3 (module),ipw2200-fw-2.3(firmware), wirels_tools.27, and finally ndiswrapper-0.10-1.6.i586.rpm. I read the README and INSTALL files but still not sure how to proceed from here. I've already gunzipped/tar xvf the files and am ready to proceed. Any help would be appreciated.

I have an Intel wireless pro 2100 card in my Dell inspiron 600m and it works fine. Did you even try configuring it in the YAST hardware configuration? Did it detect it? Wireless doesn't work right off the bat. YOu have to configure the wireless network card first.

Yes, I tried configuring the wirless card in YaST and it does see two Network Controller's. So maybe it's not a driver issue. But it doesn't see the wireless card's mac address. It see's the NIC card's mac address which is configured as eth0. But the wireless card's mac address isnt being configured (or seen)? I wonder if there is a network config file that needs to be edited (vi) or setup seperately as eth1 because I can't seem to do that manually in YaST.

Hmm... that is strange that it does not recognize the MAC address of the wireless. Have you tried, just for kicks, running Kinternet and choosing WIRELESS CONFIGURATION? Kinternet is the little "network cable plug" icon. It's there whether you connect via cable or wireless. Try scanning for some wireless connections and try connecting to them via Kinternet.

Also, in the terminal, as root, type

ifconfig -a

It will list all your network devices and addresses. Anything show up there?
