help "RDP TO WINDOWS VM"
 
hi
i have a suse server host running a virtual machine manager with a vm running windows server 2012r2 .i want to rdp directly to the windows vm how do i port forwad port 3389 to accomplish that


Suse server ip 192.168.0.59
Windows vm ip is 192.168.122.169

i want to rdp directly to the windows server from my windows computer

please advice

need to know how did you configure your network. Which software did you try? What's happened? Is there any error message?

am using windows remote desktop
as per the question how do i configure the rdp so that i can remotely access vm inside suse enterprise

To be specific, what virtualization software are you running? VMware, VirtualBox etc

Depending on the above answer you have several choices.

You might be able to switch from a NAT to a bridged virtual adapter. That would put your VM on the LAN and you should be able to access it directly.
Allow 3389 traffic through the virtual router. Again how to do that depends on virtualization software.

I assume that Windows Remote desktop server is allowed through the Windows firewall.
