I just got an email notification from Novell that my SuSE 10.0 has shipped one day before I thought it would. Even if your expectation was a week earlier, I would ask this question. Would you prefer on time to shipping with known critical bugs? IMHO, I find a one week slip on a six month project far from a hanging offense.

Where did you see a ship date of September 30th on the novell site? I have checked the site many times leading up to the release, prior to the 30th I know and never saw it. I am not saying you are wrong, but just asking where you saw it.

I am still waiting for mine to ship from Amazon. They had a release date of October 1st, but once October 1st came, it did stop being advertised as a pre-order, but it said there was a 1 to 2 week ship time.

The only date I remember seeing anywhere other than in this thread was Oct 6. I ordered from Novell and I got a ship notice today -- one day early. Shipping was free so I probably have about 5+ days to wait.

To all who question my assertion of a 30 Sep 2005 ship date:

Go to this URL and see it for yourself then:

Can we now re-start this posting 'as the original question'. Has anyone got the retail version yet?

Thumbs up

SuSE 10.0 just arrived from Novell. I pre-ordered. Now for the fun part -- installation or update from 9.3.

EDIT: I decided to be brave and update instead of clean install. I'm using it right now. So far, so good. I can't quantify but some of the applications I tried load faster with 10.0. I still need to experiment with multi-media. I expect to have some new RPM installs to make all perfect but I have no complaints.

My copy has just arrived at work now. Typically it is my wife's birthday today - so I am out for a meal tonight and will have to wait until tomorrow before installing it!
