Hello,

1) The Card Detection is based on the chipset. I for example have the Radeon 9700 but
it's detected as ATI 300 NE. This is normal since the Radeon 9700 has the 300 Chipset.
If you want to enable the 3D support then you need to install additional drivers.
You can download them from:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/sup.../fglrx/8.8.25/
Make sure you read the README File in the above mentioned URL. It gives very
usefeull information and instructions how to install the drivers and enable 3D acceleration.
You may also consider to check from time to time
http://www.novell.com/products/linux...x11/index.html
for news and updates considering the SuSE X Graphic system.

2) Did you check your volume settings ?
I suggest you start the kMixer and check the volume for PCM and Wave.
Alternative: Open a console window and start alsamixer.
Check there the above mentioned settings. It may be that not all settings are displayed
due to teh size of the console windows. In this case scroll horizontaly with the
arrow left and arrow right keys from your keyboard.
For playing MP3 files you also need a MP3 codec. Make sure you have installed LAME!

Then your card seems not to be properly configured. Use YAST2 delete the card and reinstall it.
By teh way: Do you have a web cam or similar attached to your computer ?
