GUI start up problem

Hello

I installed suse linux 10.0. in my system. Basically I lack in knowledge of linux. I installed this for the purpose of learning linux. But unfortunately before I start my reading I did something so that my linux boots as command line (i.e No GUI ).

It just asks for login: Password:

and remains in the console as deena@linux:

when I type startx, it starts the KDE with an error msg:

The powersave daemon is not running
starting it will improve performance:
/usr/bin/rcpowersaved start

What can I do to retrive my KDE environment.

Configuration:
ASUStek mother board
AMD athlon XP 2200
512MB ram
windows XP installed in C:

In /etc/inittab, change the default runlevel to '5' (yours is probably set to '3').

The error message just tells you what to do to make the powermanagment running. You can configure this in YaST as well.
