GTK+-2.6.9 compile problem

I'm running SuSE 8. I have requirments to use this OS level
and GTK+ version.

I built the prerequisites for GTK+-2.6.9,
the "configure" completed but I get the following error
during the compile;

/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -g -O2 -Wall -o libpixbufloader-png.la -rpath /usr/local/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/loaders -avoid-version -module io-png.lo -L@libdir@ -lpng@PNGLIB_MAJOR@ libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la -L/usr/local/lib -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lgobject-2.0 -lglib-2.0 -liconv -lm
../libtool: line 1: cd: @libdir@: No such file or directory
libtool: link: cannot determine absolute directory name of `@libdir@'
make[4]: *** [libpixbufloader-png.la] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/build/gtk+-2.6.9/gdk-pixbuf'
make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/build/gtk+-2.6.9/gdk-pixbuf'
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/build/gtk+-2.6.9/gdk-pixbuf'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/build/gtk+-2.6.9'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Has anyone seen this error before?
Have any idea how to fix the problem?

Thanks,

Hey

I'm not sure if Suse 8 has YasT, but if it does I would just right-click on the package GTK2, and goto Actions, and build in YasT, this might resolved some issues.

Not sure though, just a thought.

Ciao
