WHich modem to purchase? and its specification Modem can be

3). I am living in PAKISTAN where SUMMER Season is long and in june and july summer is at its full swing with 40C to 45C so something about this issue.
1. All drives with a atapi interface should work.
2. A external serial modem works without problems under linux.
3. A AMD processor does not run so hot.
I agree on the external modem although many purchased computers come with an internal that will most likely work. 512MB is a good choice on memory. Linux makes good use of memory. I've had very good luck with AMD processors and will stick with them. Most devices work well with SuSE Linux and rarely require you to find or load a driver. You're not looking at anything that might cause you trouble. Its safest to check the web for compatibility before you buy. Manufacturer's sites may not mention Linux, even though their product works with it. Trust this site for all kinds of help.
1). It was a time that in Pakistan AMD was rejected due to heating problem, at that time it may be suite able for Europe. If you still recommand and have an detail analysis related heating problem Do write, and If you advised to purchase an AMD CPU please describe its specification comparing P4 3.2GHz
2). Please Describe in more detail about External Modem Model. and suggest one.
3). I have heard of COMBO CD/RW/DVD Drive. Is COMBO Completely Compatible with Linux 2.4 or highers.
Could you suggest me one of the manufactures and details about its specification.
COMBO drives are usually CD/RW and DVD ROM. I have a Sony. Lite-on is another good brand. To my knowledge, all CD and DVD internal drives work with Linux -- no additional driver required. If I were to buy another drive today, it would be a dual layer DVD/RW.
SATA HDD:
If the motherboard chipset (SATA) is supported by the kernel, the harddisk will work. I have mounted 2 SATA HDD from Samsung (SP1614C): they are very quiet, fast and until now I have now problems. I havenīt used Segate HDDs until now.
I cannot recommend Harddisks from Maxtor and IBM (trash).

There should be no problem with the Seagate. As for CPU heat issues, it's now Intel that has heating problems. I just assembled an Intel PentiumD for a friend and I didn't think the heatsink/fan was going to fit in the case Tom's Hardware Guide has some good article on CPUs.
I don't understand the technology but basically it doubles the capacity of a DVD out to I believe about 8.5GB. It is backward compatible with all DVDs and CDs. It will also write CD/R and CD/RW. Given only a small increment in price it seems the best bargin with the most capability. With that capacity it becomes an excellent backup media. I'm not sure what's available in your country but I would recommend LiteOn as the manufacture. They manufacture for major brands and have an excellent reputation in the US. The following link points to a product page with the model I would buy.
