glibc-32bit-2.11.3-17.54.1 vs glibc-32bit-2.11.3-17.31.1
 

Hi I have a problem with my utility running in slepos 11 sp3 kernel 3.0.93-0.8-default and have glibc-32bit-2.11.3-17.54.1, which this utility have no problem with slepos 11 sp2 kernel 3.0.74-0.6.6-default and have glibc-32bit-2.11.3-17.31.1.

here is the error:

segfault at 19 ip b7126b7a sp b084bf0c error 4 in libc-2.11.3.so[b70af000+167000]

is this related to glibc-32bit-2.11.3-17.54.1 and glibc-32bit-2.11.3-17.31.1 builds? this make me ask what is the difference with that builds besides the kernels?

I'm not too familiar with how SLE works, but I've heard that their service pack updates can cause some problems since they are more willing to push newer software into the distribution, which can cause changes in certain libraries. If you can, try running the app on a newer distribution such as openSuSE or Fedora and see if the same error appears.

More than likely you'll have to re-compile the app or apply a patch to the source code that fixes the issue.
