Sorry if this is a duplicate post but I searched and searched for a way to resolve the software updater problems in 10.1 and I finally found a solution. Follow the steps here http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=20377
Worked perfect for me. Again, sorry if this is common knowledge but I wasn't able to find anything on this forum to solve my problem.
Or, to save time and effort. Just run your first update manually using yast as the suse/opensuse website tells you to do in the install instuctions, and updater works fine afterwords.
