I am new to linux. I am installing SLES on a new server with raid 05, after I went with the setup it copies all the files until It gets to install grub. It gets me an error message installing grub and it wont let me move forward. ( I am using the setting suggested by the installation)
the error:
Error Occurred while installing GRUB
grub> setup--stage2= /grub/stage2--force-lba (hd0,0)(hd0,0)
checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists ......no
checking if "/grub/stage1" exists ......no
Just a reminder: SLES\SLED 11 are based on openSUSE 11.1. I have seen this error before in the past with 11.1. Try going back and changing GRUB settings. For me, issues came out when under the "Boot Loader" tab in the boot loader settings in the overview "Boot from Extended Partition" was checked. If it's checked, try unchecking it and see if it works. Good luck with Linux(I started with it 3 years ago)!
