Error Parsing Config file for X

For some reason, when I tried to install SuSE, it couldn't load the test server for X. It said that there was an error parsing the config file. I figured, what the heck, and just finished the installation. However, it gave me that error when I tried to boot into SuSE also. I simply logged in as root, and typed startx. Didn't work. So I tried reinstalling it again. I still get the same error with the test server, and am afraid to finish the installation for fear of not being able to use SuSE. Any ideas???

What's the error?

You can find a log-file for X in /var/log somewhere which will contain any errors.

I kept trying, and to my advantage. There is no longer an error, I got the test server running, as it turns out, it was all 3D Acceleration's fault for the errors. (I will never use it in Linux again!) Thanks for the help though!

Just FYI, on SuSE you can re-probe your h/w and re build the Xconfig file from scratch using this command:

Sax2 -a -r

PS:
On SuSE 9.x, the log file is typically /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Thanks, I'll keep this in mind just in case it ever gets screwed up again. (I'm very sure it will sometime, with me being root...:D )
