Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

I just installed Mplayer and all the dependent installations. I was testing to see if it was working by testing various formats including mpeg, wmv and avi files. Then, I put a DVD movie in the drive and played it for a while.

However, it appears that Suse detected that I had loaded a DVD into the drive. So, Kaffeine kicked off. I simply closed Kaffeine without using it.

Now I get this error message when I try to load a file into Mplayer:
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

I've seen some information that says I need to change my video output device. Unfortunately, I don't know what I should change it to. Any suggestions for the default from the install?

Nevermind. It looks like it's working now.

I uninstalled Kaffeine and Mplayer. Then reinstalled Mplayer. I still got the error but eventually realized that Kaffeine was still loaded on the panel. I closed it. Then changed to runlevel 1.

When I went back to KDE, Mplayer was working again.
