Hi guys,

I was just trying to install OpenSUSE on a VM server so I can run some tests with FreeRADIUS but I'm not being able to connect to our windoze2003 domain at installation.

Everything is installing correctly and when I come to the authentication part I chose Windows Domain, I entered our realm name company.name.here and hit ok, it will then work for a few seconds and ask for a username and password but for the SHORT DOMAIN NAME (Pre-win2000 name) when I enter it I get an error message: ERROR using short domain name --COMPANY deleted account for 'NETWORK COMPUTER' in realm company.name.here


Strange things going on:

It is seeing our domain, since it is trying to use it and I never entered it, the NETWORK COMPUTER is an actual computer name in out network, but it is not the name of this server, where it got it I have no clue!

any ideas???

OK, got this resolved, I think VMWare was not binding the NIC while the install was going on, because I finished the install using local authentication, then did the Windows Domain authentication in the computer setup area, and it worked perfectly.
