EPSON Laser Printer EPL-6200L/ SUSE- is there a way to install it

Hi,

I was hoping that, maybe, in the last SUSE 11.2 would be possible to install this printer , but no. I cant use it since SUSE 10.2. I was trying and followed all and every possible track I found here, but nothing. So I am just asking if there is somebody who succeded and installed this printer. If there is, pls show me the right way to do so.

My system offers drivers for that model. I'm running CUPS 1.4.1, and the most recent Gutenprint drivers. The printer setup is offering me a choice of PS3 or foomatic/postscript.

How have you tried installing it, and what were the problems?

I now use only the CUPS web interface---just enter "localhost:631" in a browser.

Hi pixellany, the problem is a PPD file. The following is the err.message :

/home/bogomir/Prenosi/epsoneplijs-0.4.1/epsoneplijs-0.4.1/foomatic_PPDs/Epson-EPL-6200L-epl6200l-cups.ppd.gz: FAIL
**FAIL** Unable to open PPD file - Line longer than the maximum allowed (255 characters) on line 202.
REF: Page 15, section 3.1.
WARN Line 44 only contains whitespace!

If I open the file I cant see any error. As I said I am not an expert.

I suppose you could have a corrupted driver.

Have you checked here?:
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/colla...s/openprinting

Also, try some Google searches, and maybe the Epson Linux site:

Thank you very much pixellany. I have succesfully installed the printer. I used linuxfoundation.org and a little bit of googling(have to install foomatic.db, foomatic.db engine, foomatic - rip and all ghostscript libs in yast, and voila, my printer is working.
Thank you and everybody who tried to help.
