Question Envision 17" and HP 19" CRT's

I had been using Envisions 17" EN-710e for a long time with Suse. Then I came across a good deal on a HP D2842 19". I really liked the HP. The Envision was fine but my eyesight isn't good.
So, everything was running along fine, using 1152x864. I could see it pretty well. Then the picture started fluctuating, from time to time getting smaller then normal.
I have a NVidia GEForce FX5200 video card.
I got tired of it and switched back to the 17" Envision and isolated the problem to the HP. Now I can hardly see anything on the Envision. But while setting up the Envision I can't find it in the Vender list in Sax2. It still says Hp. Is there another brand that is used in place of Envision? I don't remember this happening in the beginning. Does it make it difference? It detects a 17" screen. "Hardware Information" detects the "Envision". I need the fonts in the browser toolbar to be bigger and the test in this forum to be bigger. I've read to do it in "user.chrome.css" but under the "Chrome" file I have "UserChromeexample.css" and I can't write to it.
Also, what do you think is wrong with the HP? Toast?

Thanks alot.

I'm not the best one to ask because I had problems using 10.1 also, but use one of the Vesa monitor settings.
