Edit what's in the K-Menu ("start" button)

When I first installed SuSE 10 from the DVD, I installed ALL packages to avoid any problems (I am new to Linux). So now after a few days I have decided that I can do without some. I do not mind having on the HDD, but I do not want to see them in the K-menu. I have tried right click>Edit Menu, but this does not allow me to choose what to display on the ribbon. I have a small 12.1" screen and I find that it clutters a bit with all these items in there.

Many thanks,

The edit kmenu display has a lot of sub folders which don't appear in the regular kmenu display if nothing is in them. Click one of these folders and if empty only the small plus changes to a minus, otherwise a list of the applications in the folder are seen. Any of these can be deleted or new ones created. Note: after making changes, you must save them before closing the edit window or they will be lost. This is also the place where you can assign hot keys to applications. I use the Win key as the shift for hot keys as Ctrl or Alt may conflict with application hot keys.

Thanks, This deletes the items completely. Now say I need to see them again, how do I do this (I deleted the entertainment and Games folders). Works fine.

You can create them again. examine the drop down menus above and hover on the icons above for a display of what they do. It's very strait forward.
