Dual Boot ghosting question

Hello i didnt see anything related to this so i guess ill ask.
dual booting win xp pro with suse 10. this is setup on 2 physical hard drives. my "c" drive is winxp pro.. my d" is suse. fresh load with ati working mplayer and just the way i want it.

my question is can i "ghost" my 2nd hard drive of suse so i case i mess it up just throw the image back on ?
and just go back and edit grub later? i am unsure on how this would work.
if i was to wipe and reload windows i would lose my mbr showing dual boot.

btw i would be using acronis true image 9.0

I'm not sure I understand the problem. IIRC acronis is able to image a linux partition. Just run it from within windows and write it to wherever you have storage capacity on your non-linux hard drive. You might want to create a separate partition on your windows drive to hold your suse image backup.

Re loosing your bootloader, certainly if you reinstall windows, the install program will overwrite the mbr with the windows boot loader. However, IIRC the suse install cd-1 can be booted and is able to restore suse's grub boot loader. Check out the documentation for details but I'm fairly certain they have some kind of rescue/restore function on that install cd.
