don't want splashscreen during boot sequence

on my hp pavilion laptop i get the running system and boot details floating down the screen - which i like..

but on my server-box - suse 9.3 prof 64 bit - it shows the green splashscreen during boot - i can only switch to the details screen after some time - and always almost at the final boot sequence..

isn't it possible to edit somewhere - to have it automatically show only the black screen with the system details running..?

look for splash=silent in /boot/grub/menu1st
and change to splash=verbose
should do the trick

splash=verbose will show the messages on a graphical background. splash=0 will switch it off.
