development in suse 10.0

Hi!

I'm currently downloading the 5CDs of suse 10.0
I want to have linux to trying do develop platformindependet applications.
I've just tried 9.1 personal, but that would not work because I need tooo much pakcages to get kdevelop running, I did not manage that.
So my question is: Will I have a running development system with kdevelop or sth else after having just installed 10.0 from these 5 CDs?

You're not supposed to bump threads until a full day passes since the last post. Remember the guidelines you agreed to when you signed up for your account here?

Sheesh. I'm not answering your question solely because of your impatience.

Yep, Suse 10 has most of the developemnt packages that you will need. 9.1 Personal was meant for newbies so was very crippled.

Threads are automatically bumped for you thats why you are not supposed to bump before a 24 hour period.

Re: development in suse 10.0

Well SUSE offers you 3 major development environments/programs + libraries, support and editors for perl, php, c, python and many others.

QT and Kdevelop :

An integrated development environment (IDE) that allows you to write
programs for the X Window System, the Qt library, or KDE. It includes a
documentation browser, a source code editor with syntax highlighting, a
GUI for the compiler, and much more.

Mono and Monodevelop- if you are interested in .net programming

MonoDevelop is intended to be a full-featured integrated development
environment (IDE) for mono and

Java and Eclipse:

The Eclipse Platform is designed for building integrated development
environments (IDEs) which can be extended by custom plugins. The base
distribution also contains a full-featured Java development
environment.

But what does the cds include is a mystery to me, according to Novell suse site those packages are only on the dvd version..
You maybe have to add a YAST repositories to get those packages with easy installation.
Here is a guide for that.
