Desktop fails to load

Hi,
I am running Suse 10.2 on my PC. I have it automatically configured to log me in on system start and take me to my KDE desktop.
However, today I have been getting an error message when trying to boot my system.
It says something along the lines of "Your current session lasted for less than 10 seconds". When I checked the error code associated with the failure to load, I got:

/etc/opt/gnome/gdr/presession/default/ default.. registering your session with wtmp and vtmp
/default: running /usr/bin/seereg/6 - 9 -w/var/log/ wtmp-v/var/run/vtmp - x "/var/lib/gdm/:0.xservers" - H "" - l ":0!!tim"
/etc/x11/xim: checking whether input method should be started
INPUT_Method is not set or empty ( no user selected input method)
trying to start a default input method for locale en-gb UTF-8...
There is no default input method for the current locale
mkdtemp: private dir :- no space left on device

Does anyone know what is going wrong here and how to fix it? I'm not great on Linux yet, so would need step by step instructions if anyone is willing :-)

Thanks,
tim

I could be wrong but you may be out of drive space on one of the partitions. At a terminal prompt type this command and see if anything is 100percent full.
df -h

I know if partition becomes full X will not start. Not sure of the error it shows though.
