Question Deleting A Sound Card

I would like to know how to delete a sound card. I have disconnected my sound card just to make this easier and there is no onboard audio. When I press delete in YaST nothing happens and when I press edit the window closes and nothing changes. I have included a screenshot of my YaST screen. Any help you guys could provide would be appriciated.

It looks like you did already delete it.

If I look in the Yastscreen from my computer it specifies a particular sound card.

Also under number there is [0]
There is a name under model
and in the last column = functioning(translation)

So i think it is gone already but check /etc/modprobe.d/sound
If there is something in it. Yast modifies this file.

Thank you for the help. I was able to delete the file you mentioned and plug my sound card back in but I am still getting an error (forgot to mention that earlier). I have included a picture of the error I get. It is displaying the correct audio card information and I am almost certain that that is the correct module to load. Any idea what my problem might be?

I don't know why your sound card is not recognized now. Perhaps the old configuration file is still present? (wild speculation on my part).

Reference your earlier question about deleting your sound driver, ... if SuSE-10 won't let you delete the driver, I've read of some users successfully renaming /etc/modprobe.d/sound to whatever one likes, as a means of deleting the sound driver.

I have finnally got it working. I want to thank all of you for your help. The only possible reason for me to switch back to using Windows was if I couldn't get the audio working but now it seems as if the Windows CD's will make fine frisbees. Once again thanks for your help. I owe you.

Suse 10 -sound

Superdude-876

Hi

Can you please let me know how you solved the problem as I am in the similar situation.
Every time I boot up I have to run alsaconf to load the SIS7012 sound driver. This gives me sound formthe cdrom drive only
When I run Amarok it crashes when I try to play a mp3 file. Xine will play my dvd's except for a lack of sound.
