CPU usage constantly at 100% due to application-browser and gnome-panel
Greetings to all.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to why, in the last couple of weeks all of a sudden, my CPU usage constantly hovers around 100%. Checking top, I notice the two offenders are constantly application-browser and gnome-panel, both of which hover at around the 40% CPU usage mark. Normally, I expect to see the CPU usage high when I first boot the machine, as it is normally checking for any new software updates, but now this doesn't settle down for hours at a time. Prior to the last couple of weeks I've never had this problem. Machine specs: openSuse 10.2 kernel version: 2.6.18.2-34-default AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2GB memory EDIT: Sorted it out, removed the gnome-panel and re-added it. Seems to have solved the problem. Many thanks, - Perps. |
Yup, had the same problem before.. Same thing was done.. Removed and Re-added..
