You are the one who stated "unresolved missing software". Not me. And clearly you don't understand Smart as your comment missed the point of what Smart can and will do at a single mouse click (once running). As you note both YaST and Smart will NOT nominally allow both Novell-Suse and Packman-SuSE xine variants to reside/be-installed at the same time. One will be forced to select one or the other. But with Smart, after one click with the mouse button, will download (if necessary), and install the needed software and all dependencies ... It will also go back a version or more, if necessary, automatically, to sort out dependencies. Despite my affection for YaST as a GREAT program, YaST will NOT do that. We are talking two different generations of package managers here.

But its all a mute point, as he has decided to install Manually. There is an advantage to that, as he will probably learn more doing things manually, as opposed to an automatic approach.

sheesh,
can smart installer keep at the same time conflicting libraries? This is what he wanted to do, problem that you seems not being able to understand.
