Angry Command line tab completion reboots Suse 9.3

Since installing Suse 9.3 (clean install) I have been having troubles with command line completions rebooting the computer. I have purchased a new keyboard but the problem persists.

You mean 'Tab' causes reboot? Very strange!

Does this happen in runlevel 3 or 5? Maybe you have accidentally selected "Tab" as keyboard shortcut for reboot.
Or choosing another keyboard layout will help.

It happens in run level 3, and also whem using bash shell in run level 5. I haven't tried other shells. But I'll be happily typing along, try a command line completion, and reboot. It does not happen every time, but frequently enough that I type out all commands fully. It also happened last night when I was connected to a Cisco router using minicom. I tab completed a Cisco command in IOS and voila - reboot!
