Clearing YAST update list?
Using SUSE10.0
I need to reinstall powersave - I find it in the YAST software module, but when I click accept it opens up literally hundreds of dependency problems starting with Apache, dbus, etc. Options are to uninstall them all - which looks like pretty much everything in my system! I tried other selections of software to install - it doesn't matter which one I select. I suspect there is a listing of 'things that need updating' somewhere that YaST2 is using that needs to be cleared out. Until then, I can't install anything with YaST. I've tried going into Package Groups, All in this list Keep. I've gone through and changed all the update symbols to keep Doesn't change when I try to install anything. |
Have you tried booting with your installation cd/dvd, selecting "repair installed system" and then choosing "verify base packages" (or something similar sounding) ?

Are you sure you selected "update" (the green recycle symbol) and not "delete" (the trash can)?

Clearing YAST
Unfortunately, I'm travelling so do not have the installation disks with me. I definitely am not selecting for deletion. Maybe I'll try downloading latest 10.1 and reinstalling
