Question Changing the default language...

I am trying to change the default language to French on my computer. I logged into YaST as root and changed the language, but the language didn't change. I even rebooted, and the language did not change. Is there something else I need to do?

I am also trying to change the language to French in OpenOffice. One would think that this would be easy to do under the options menu, but I can't get it to change.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

There are several language-packs you need to install:

for KDE: kde3-i18n-fr
for YaST: yast2-trans-fr
for OpenOffice: OpenOffice_org-fr

All via YaST.

Thank you, that worked (for the most part). However, for some reason, my "Start Menu" and my OpenOffice are still in English. How do I change this?

Thanks,

Did you restart KDE? Maybe you'll have the correct language on next reboot.

I figured it out. You have to go into Control Center and add the language that way.

Thanks again.
