changing distro

Greetings,

I have moved over to Suse! things are great except for one annoyance that im hoping someone can help me with. May seem small but its huge to me.

Before in either mandrake or redhat i could always use the following command to start/stop/restart a service

service httpd2 stop

Is there an eqivialant in SuSe? Iv been using ps - el | grep httpd2 but i find it to be a work around.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

In SuSE, just drop the 'service' keyword.

To use your example, in SuSE, that would be:

httpd2 stop

Options are httpd2 start|restart|graceful|stop.

Just check the man pages for the service of interest. If it has a start|stop option, it'll be there.
