Change default CD player?

22 Apr 2008
Los Angeles

Running openSUSE 10.3... (Gnome)
I want to have kaffeine, or maybe VLC, or maybe mplayer be the default CD player, but cannot see how to set that. I can set .ogg files, etc. by selecting 'open with..', but cannot do that with an audio CD.
Is there no way to do the?!?! The 'Preferred Applications' tool appears to be quite useless.
I have seen similar Qs posted, but from several years ago, and nothing of any help for CDs under Gnome.

Thanks,
