Did you download opensuse yourself? If so, i'm guessing you checked the MD5 sums?
|
yes..i download myself. DVD version.
there is 2 file in FTP. - MD5SUMS - openSUSE-10.2-GM-DVD-i386.iso i only download openSUSE-10.2-GM-DVD-i386.iso do you mean i must download MD5SUMS too? Thanks for your reply. |
Download the MD5SUMS too. All it is is a text file with a list of MD5 hashes.
Then what you need to do is get a MD5 sum generator. What this will do is create an M5D hash that you can compare with the one in the MD5SUM list you have downloaded. If they are different it means that the .iso file you have downloaded is corrupt and may not work correctly. To check the MD5 sum in linux do: Code:
md5sum <path to the file> (However, all of what i have explained may not fix you problem, it is just to check that the file downloaded correctly) |
i'm so sorry...
i don't understand, cos i'm newbie :( i've download that file. i have 2 files now - MD5SUMS - openSUSE-10.2-GM-DVD-i386.iso then, what should i do to burn it? i burn it in windows xp with nero. |
Have a look here:
http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm There's steps for burning isos in Nero there. Dave |
