Can locked files be deleted or removed?

I have a suse 10 os and I have a couple of files that I wish to delete. These files have locks on them. Is there any way to remove them? Thanks!!

What exactly do you mean when you say they have locks on them? The icon of the file has a lock drawn on it? If so, that means that you (i.e. your regular username) doesn't have permission to delete the files. You need to become the root user, then delete the file. root can do whatever he or she pleases.

The files could have locks on them because you do not own them. If you want to delete them, then you can do so as root. As mentioned above, root can more or less do as he/she pleases, so always be careful when you are logged in as root.
