Can't seem to get my freshly burned .iso image to boot.

I have burned SUSE-Linux-9.2-FTP-DVD.iso onto a DVD using K3b. However, for some reason it doesn't boot. I don't get an error message when I tryi, it just decides to ignore my bios coice to boot from the DVD-ROM and boot as normal into GRUB. Please help!

I did note that you said the DVD ignores your BIOS, but have you doublechecked your BIOS to make sure it's still attempting to run from CD? Also, did you burn the DVD as a bootable image?

You have to install a boot image at the front of the dvd if you expect it to boot.

Typically this is the image of a floppy disk that has been configured to be bootable.

K3b is an easy way to create bootable CDs/DVDs. To create a bootable dvd in k3b, you need to do -

tools -> dvd -> burn dvd iso image

otherwise the bootable stuff that jiml8 was talking about isn't put on the dvd.

good luck.
