Can't figure out why my Suse 9.2 disk won't boot
I recently downloaded Suse 9.2 iso and burned it to a DVD. However, when I try to boot from it, my disk is basically ignored and it goes into it's default boot into GRUB. HELP!

check your BIOS to see if it set to boot the HD first.
Does the BIOS messages state that "Boot from CD.....failed" |
No, it doesn't. It just switches over to standard boot. I just tried my originaly boxed version DVD of Suse linux pro 9.0 and it worked fine. Thus I guess it must be my disk. It says it is recording the iso image and the files are all there......But it doesn't want to boot.

I had another posting that was just found for me where someone suggested I try a new disk because he had a similar problem. I think I might try that.

It was a bad DVD after all. Thank you so much for your help!
I don't supose anyone might know how to re-partition my hard-drive so I can put 9.2 on it? |
You can repartition your hard drive and resize the Windows partition during the 9.2 installation.
I didn't have to resize the Windows partition so I don't have any experience of that but I did configure my Linux partitions during the 9.2 install and it worked fine. |
Ok....Thanks, Grouge. ;)
