Can't boot 9.3 Live from DVD

I'm an absolute Linux newbie and trying to get SuSE 9.3 DVD to boot on my laptop but can't. I have a brand new Dell Inspiron 6000 running XP Pro. When I start the machine, hit F12 and enter the one-time boot menu, I choose to boot from DVD, the screen flickers, I see a curso then it boots to Win XP. Every time.

Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help.

How did you burn the DVD? A common mistake is to extract the iso file prior to burning. To make the DVD bootable, it has to be burned with the 'Burn/Write Image' function.
