Booted suse live dvd-after hardware config nothing?

I bought a copy of linux user & developer with a live suse dvd. It booted fine. Suse screen came up and everything looked fine. Hardware configuring and setup was running fine. After that nothing. A blank screen with little square box with Mz? or Mh? cannot remember floating on my sceen.

Do not know what to do. I am brand new to linux do not know anything about it

Would appreciate if someone can help me:confused:

If your video card is an older NVIDIA do nit install Nvidia drivers during the installation. Do not allow yast to update in the installation process. After start up you can make a very simple upgrade with yast.

If this doesn't work, try to download an UBUNTU live cd(NOT AN INSTALL CD). Start this up and see if all your hardware is recognized. Then you can use the video params for installation from Suse or Install KUBUNTU (kde version of Ubuntu)
