Beginner HowTo:Changing the KDE Menu Icon
Hi everybody I was wondering how to change the K/Suse menu icon, came here and found only one solution.Replacing the file itself.
While searching I thought of another way that works well and that makes it easy to replace it again.Tell me how it works for you. (3.3) 1:Enter the K Menu Editor, 2:Create a new Sub-item and give it a name and most imortantly the icon you want, 3:Cut and Paste everything inside that new Sub-item and Save, 4:Right-click KDE panel Add/Application Button/"Your Menu" >Add This Menu, Here you go,next time you want to change the K icon change this one. Hope this helps someone, Bye -Steff |
The icon of the KDE menu is called kmenu.png. In the default configuration, this is a link to suse.png, showing the green gecko. I changed this icon by pointing the link to another png of my choice.
On my system, the icons are in /etc/opt/kde3/share/icons/crystalsvg/64x64/apps It may be in /opt/kde3/share/icons/crystalsvg/64x64/apps as well, and certainly in the subfolder with the resolution you use. Have fun! |
