Audio Volumn in 10.1

Why is that when I shut down 10.1 all the volumn settings go to zero? KMix and QAMix both. Wave Surround and the Master both hit bottom. Weird.

Try opening a prompt and typing "alsactl store"
That should store the mixer settings.

Granted, that will only help if you are using alsa

I'm using alsa but that didn't work and neither did the way I did it.
