Angry ATI Mobility 9000

I installed ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 driver on my laptop, and now when I logout or make "init 3" i get a picture completely messed up and no console.
It's useless to uninstall or reeinstall driver cause problem remains.

Can anyone help me?
Thanx

Suse Linux 10.1 does not mix well with ATI gfx cards for portable systems. You are saying that installing/reinstalling the default 3-D accelerated driver is useless? Are you able to type anything in bash at all? I typed in "sax2-vesa" at the command line and it installed a non-3D accel. generic driver and I no longer had messed up garbled picture in X. Then, I downloaded a 52 MB closed-source driver from ATI and used it to get back by 3-D acceleration so I could play the 3-D games.

Hi.
I was searching the forums for an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 driver for Linux, and found this post. I just wanna ask what did you download, and from where? Could you send a link? Thanks.

Hello.
You know, I already knew about that link, but still: Thanks! I have the x86 arch. My problem is that I cannot see a driver for Mobility Radeon 9000 there. There is only for 9600, 9700, 9800, and the x series. No 9000. So my question is: which driver to choose for my Mobility Radeon 9000?
Thanks.
P.S.: a direct link would be very helpful.
