Another way to configure my printer?

Everytime I try and print, whatever I am printing from stops responding and I have to end the program using Ctrl + Alt + Esc. When I try and configure my printer through Yast it stops responding at "Load Current Settings" and I have to end Yast the same way. I tried configuring it in Yast through Shell and Control Center. Is there another way I can configure my printer or figure out why it is freezing? I am Using a Canon S450 in Suse 9.3. My printer worked before, I am thinking it stopped working correctly after I did an online update, but I can't remember what the updates were before it stopped working.

You can try running yast from runlevel three in a virtual terminal.

Check you log files for errors.

See what's in /etc/cups/printers.conf

haha, thank you so much for that reply. I checked the error log and there were about 100 lines about the tcpwrapper. I had read that if you aren't on a network you should deny all in the host.deny, so what happened was that I didn't allow a connection from 127.0.0.1 and so it was blocking my own computer. I had no idea it would do that, haha. So I added 127.0.0.1 to the host.allow file and the printer is working as normal. Thanks again.
